Welcome to Gethooptie, Inc. (“Gethooptie,” “we,” “our” or the “Company”) and our carpooling services. We connect riders in need of transportation with drivers heading to the same destination who are willing to share their ride. Our service is called Gethooptie Carpooling Services.
By using Gethooptie, either through the Gethooptie App or the Gethooptie Carpool App, you acknowledge that you have read and understood the privacy policy and the Gethooptie Carpooling Terms and Conditions (collectively, the “Terms”). These terms form a legally binding agreement between you and Gethooptie, and you agree to abide by and comply with them. Additionally, you acknowledge and agree to use the Gethooptie Carpooling Services in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations. Any terms used here that are not defined have the meaning given to them in the Gethooptie Carpooling Terms and Conditions.
YOU MAY ONLY USE GETHOOPTIE IF YOU FULLY ACCEPT THIS PRIVACY POLICY. BY ACCEPTING THIS POLICY, USING GETHOOPTIE, YOU INDICATE YOUR INFORMED CONSENT TO THE COLLECTION AND PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION, AS OUTLINED BELOW. IF YOU DISAGREE WITH ANY OF THE TERMS OUTLINED HERE, YOU CANNOT USE THE GETHOOPTIE CARPOOLING SERVICES.
INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM THE USERS
Gethooptie may gather anonymous and non-identifiable information, known as Non-Personal Information, which includes technical and behavioral data, information about the user’s activity on the Gethooptie Carpooling Services (such as carpool requests and approvals), session heatmaps, clicks and scrolls, information about the user’s operating system and browser, the type of mobile device and its operating system version and settings, and the duration of usage of the app.
Additionally, in order to provide the Gethooptie Carpooling Services, users will be asked to connect to Gethooptie via Facebook. Gethooptie will then collect individually identifiable information about the user, which is referred to as Personal Information. This information includes the user’s full name, mobile phone number, email address, Facebook access, advertisement identification, ranking by other users of the travel experience, and information about the user’s vehicle (for drivers), including User Information and Travel Information (as defined in the Gethooptie Carpooling Terms and Conditions). Gethooptie will also collect the user’s Facebook information, such as their profile picture and the number of Facebook friends they have.
To connect users who want to carpool together to a specific destination, Gethooptie will also collect the user’s geo-location and offer them different public transportation options, including detailed location and route information through GPS signals, the user’s travel habits (such as routes and times of travel), home and office address or other frequently visited destinations, and additional information sent by the user’s mobile device. Users may also choose to provide an “About Me” sentence for other users to view, as well as other personal information about their general ride preferences (such as smoker/non-smoker, favourite music etc.). Any Non-Personal Information that is connected or linked to Personal Information, in order to improve the services offered, will also be considered and treated by Gethooptie as Personal Information as long as such connection or linkage exists.
Providing Personal Information is optional, however it is necessary helpful for the implementation of Gethooptie services, such as connecting drivers and riders, and informing other users of information needed to determine whether to provide or choose a ride to share. If you choose not to provide the Personal Information, we may not be able to process your payments or provide you with the Gethooptie services.
To fulfill our contract with you, we collect both Non-Personal and Personal Information for the following purposes: (i) to provide and operate the Gethooptie; (ii) to connect users for the purpose of the Gethooptie; (iii) to verify the identity of drivers and riders; (iv) to contact users for technical assistance, support, and to gather feedback; (v) to respond to user inquiries; (vi) for customization and improvement of the Gethooptie’s accuracy and interface. Additionally, if required by law, we may process or disclose your information (vii) to comply with requests from government agencies, and (viii) to comply with any applicable rules or regulations.
To clarify, in order to use Gethooptie, users must have an account and the information collected will be subject to this Carpooling Privacy Policy. Gethooptie may use any information collected through the use of the Gethooptie App and the Gethooptie Carpool App to provide the Gethooptie Carpooling Services.
You also ensure that all information provided through Gethooptie is accurate and complete during the entire time you use Gethooptie.
INFORMATION SHARED WITH OTHER USERS
I don’t understand why you are gathering information about a person’s smoking habits. In your privacy policy, you say smoking in vehicles is not permitted. Why do you need to know about a person’s smoking behavior in other situations? You may be using this just for example purposes, but it may confuse your potential users. You should consider deleting references to smoking in this context. Except as described above, Get Hooptie will not share, disseminate, or sell your information to any third party, except in compliance with a court order or valid subpoena.
THIRD PARTY SOFTWARE/SERVICE PROVIDERS
When using Gethooptie, we may utilize third-party software and/or services for various purposes, such as collecting and processing the information outlined in this policy. These third-party service providers are independent of Gethooptie and we do not take any responsibility for their information collection policies or any issues, legal or otherwise, related to them.
