Emergency Response Policy
At Gethooptie, we prioritize the safety and well-being of our hosts and riders. We understand that emergencies can happen unexpectedly, which is why we have developed this emergency response policy to help hosts and riders know what to do in case of an emergency or accident during a carpool ride.
Safety First In case of an emergency, the safety and well-being of everyone involved is our top priority. The first point of contact is dialing 911 for all emergencies. If anyone requires medical attention, call 911 for help immediately.
2. Rider Responsibilities
In case of an emergency, we expect riders to remain calm and follow the instructions of the host. If anyone requires medical attention, the rider should call 911 right away. The rider should also cooperate with the host and provide any necessary information.
3. Company Responsibilities
Gethooptie can be the last resort in case of an emergency or accident during a carpool ride. Our customer support team is available 24/7 to assist in any way possible. However, we cannot be held responsible for any damages or losses that may arise from an emergency or accident during a carpool ride.
4. New Ride Arrangements
If the carpool ride is unable to continue due to an emergency or accident, the host is responsible for arranging a new ride for the rider. Gethooptie can assist with this process, but the host ultimately bears the responsibility. The new ride should be arranged promptly to ensure the safety and convenience of the rider.
5. Insurance Coverage
All hosts on the Gethooptie app are required to have valid and current auto insurance coverage that meets the minimum requirements as discussed in our insurance coverage policy. This policy provides coverage for bodily injury, property damage, and personal injury liability for the host and passengers. However, in case of an emergency or accident during a carpool ride, the host's insurance coverage will be the point of coverage.
By using the Gethooptie app, hosts and riders acknowledge that they have read and understood this emergency response policy and agree to comply with its terms and conditions. Hosts and riders also acknowledge that Gethooptie shall not be liable for any damages or losses that may arise from an emergency or accident during a carpool ride.
